Graduate programs requiring state licensure fall under Educator Preparation Program oversight. They include these programs:

Master’s Programs and Endorsements

  • Principalship MAE
  • Reading Endorsement (K-8) 
  • School Counseling MA
  • School Library Studies MA and Teacher Librarian Endorsement
  • School Psychology MAE/EdS
  • School Social Work Endorsement (part of MSW program) 
  • Speech-Language Pathology MA
  • Strategist I (K-8, 5-12, Mild/Moderate Disabilities), Strategist II (K-12, Intellectual Disabilities and Behavior Disorders/Learning Disabilities)

Advanced Studies Certificates

  • Principalship
  • Superintendency 

Each of these programs has a strong history of preparing leaders in their fields for Iowa and beyond. Depending on program, you’ll work with faculty advisors and enrollment contacts to apply, enter and proceed through your program in conjunction with the individual college providing the program, the Graduate College and, for some, Online & Distance Education.
