Teacher Education Convocation

The 62nd UNI Teacher Education Convocation and Celebration is scheduled during Family Weekend, September 13, 2025.

This special ceremony -- unique to UNI in its scope -- honors pre-service teachers who have met the criteria for acceptance into UNI Teacher Education and their overall commitment to the teaching profession. The event, held since the 1990s, is an ongoing reflection of the legacy of generations of graduates from Iowa's leading undergraduate teaching program. 

The event is slated for 10 a.m. at Maucker Union. This year's guest speaker is Barb Schwamman, superintendent of Osage and Riceville community schools. Students will receive the traditional commemorative pin, be recognized as they walk the stage in celebration of this milestone in their journey and hear from President Mark Nook. Family and friends encouraged to attend!
